Are you ready to join the team?
UWC Thailand (UWCT) is looking for passionate, dynamic and intelligent educators and staff who are energized by working with and around young people to continue to drive our school forward. Our recruitment of educators generally occurs November through January, but positions may be listed and filled on a rolling basis throughout the year. Educators with previous UWC and/or IB experience, personal experience with (or openness to) mindfulness practices and those with a desire to be involved in the residential life of the school are at a distinct advantage.
The recruitment of non-educational staff also occurs on a rolling basis throughout the year so interested applicants are encouraged to visit our employment page frequently. For educational and non-educational positions alike, applicants must have a strong alignment with the UWCT mission and values as they are essential to everything that we do.
Who we are and what we believe.
United World College Thailand (UWCT), previously Phuket International Academy, was established in the northern part of the island of Phuket in August, 2008. Initially a Primary School only, we have now grown to become a Nursery – Grade 12 IB Continuum School of nearly 500 students, including more than 100 boarders. Our first Grade 12 cohort graduated in May 2016 and we anticipate enrolment will continue to grow to +800 students, including +150 boarders, by 2025.
A ‘mission-driven school’, UWCT is focussed on providing a holistic education through its education programme that consists of five components: Social and Emotional Learning and Mindfulness; Service; Activities; Academics; and Outdoor Education. UWCT offers a continuum of three International Baccalaureate programmes – the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes – and has developed a justifiable reputation as being a leader in the field of Social and Emotional Learning and Mindfulness. The School is a dynamic and high-energy environment and we seek individuals that will thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation culture that keeps students and the mission at the core of what we do.
UWCT became the 16th United World College in August 2016. Whilst maintaining what is unique about the School, there is an ever-increasing emphasis upon experiential learning, service learning and outdoor education in pursuit of creating a more peaceful, sustainable future. The school values and pursues deliberate diversity and students come from more than 65 different nationalities. Amongst this diverse group are UWC National Committee Scholars who have been specially selected because of their alignment with the UWC mission and values from around the world through a rigorous process in more than 155 countries. Scholars come from over 45 different countries and are making a significant impact upon the community in the Diploma Programme years and we are committed to increasing the number of such Scholars in the years to come.
